The Ducks call up goaltender Kevin Boyle from the Gulls, he hasn’t played in the NHL and when he is called to be in net will be his NHL debut. Since Gibson got injured in the game against the Senators Ducks recall Boyle just in case. If Gibson is scratched Boyle will be the backup to Chad Johnson in the game against the Flyers.

Boyle, 26 (5/30/92), has gone 19-7-1 with a 2.72 goals-against average (GAA) and .909 save percentage (SV%) in 30 games this season with San Diego. At the time of his recall, the AHL All-Star ranked second among league goaltenders in wins and had won 14 of his last 17 starts (14-2-1, 2.30 GAA, .917 SV%).

Signed as a free agent on Mar. 30, 2016, Boyle has posted a 48-25-7 record with two shutouts, a 2.59 GAA and .918 SV% in 84 career AHL games with San Diego. The 6-1, 197-pound goaltender finished the 2017-18 AHL season ranked second among rookie goaltenders in SV% (.921), fifth in wins (19) and sixth in GAA (2.66).
